A quartz rock druse skull worked in agate white cluster. At 6.1 inches and 1517 g it wants a shelf of its own rather than a desk corner.

Agate is banded chalcedony — silica that filled a cavity in layers over a very long period. Those bands are a growth record, so a cut surface is always a cross-section through something that formed slowly.

Carving a skull leaves nowhere to hide — the proportions are familiar enough that any error reads immediately. Most of the working time goes into the orbits and the line of the jaw.
